Challenge: Continuous glucose monitors (CGM) are used by patients and in performance athletics as a biometric tool. However, the market for adhesive covers to keep these devices constantly in contact with skin lacks a strong option.

Shawsheen Solution: Sourced, validated, and designed an entire new adhesive tape for die-cut pieces; 30+-day wear, medical adhesive, and universal stretch fabric, successfully coated and die cut.

Outcome: In use in professional sports, and under final evaluation for CGM and medical devices for drug delivery.

Challenge: Customer approached SRC requesting a stretch tape with adhesive containing vitamins, moisturizers, and minerals.

Shawsheen Solution: SRC developed a bespoke, die-cut adhesive in both textile and film, with both long-term and low-trauma adhesive options.

Outcome: Customer worked with SRC to successfully document additives in adhesive, successfully commercialized in the US through multiple national retailers.

Challenge: Apparel maker sought a barrier film that could be incorporated into multi-layer clothing, which would prevent water absorption, and not contain PFAS.

Shawsheen Solution: Working through multiple novel chemistries, SRC developed a PFAS-free film with superior MVTR barrier, and met washability needs.

Outcome: Customer approved and advanced to customer camping and assembly into finished goods testing (ongoing)

Challenge: A well-known tape company discontinued their film splicing tape, commonly used industrially to process large pieces and lengths of product.

Shawsheen Solution: SRC sourced a new substrate, validated adhesive and self-winding stability, and designed a new adhesive to fit the splicing application.

Outcome: Now in use with multiple customers, and regularly used internally, SRC's new splicing tape has proven to be an improvement on the original.
